PLAY, play, and PLay!!!!!!

Last night, I played at Westlake Village for an Italian Club of seniors. My repitoire consisted of NEW YORK, NEW YORK, ALL OF ME, and all the "Standards!"! Today at noon, I play the St.Charles Spring festival in which my range of music will be "Anything and Everything!" Then tonight, I play at Ernies then tomorrow noon, I play at a Festival in Van Nuys! Then it's back at Ernie's tomorrow evening. Monday at 10:30 p.m. it's Universal Bar and Grill, and Tuesday evening, MOnty's Steak House where I get to play on their grand Piano!! I've shot over two thirds of the comercial I was hired to film, and I'm very pleased with the progress! More on that later as I have to go and play at the Festival!! YAY! love, jd

Step by Step...

The first step to the commercial I was hired to create was THE SCRIPT! Did that! Then the script needed A SONG! Did that! And, that's what I recorded yesterday. Now it's time to CAST!!!

Tonight, I'm recording tracks of a song I wrote for the commercial then we film next week. I've been so overwhelmed with LIFE issues in which I choose not to elaborate; however, in the GRAND scheme of things, I'm healthy and doing what I love to do, and for that I am grateful!!! YAY! love, jd

I LOVE L.A. i LOVE L.A. I love L.A. I LOVE l.a.

Ironically, a few seconds after I titled my blog, SHERLY CROWE came on the radio singing, "This is L.A.!" Technically, I live in Studio City in the San Fernando Valley, but we are L.A. County; therefore, everyone in L.A. County, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Malibu, etc. is considered Los Angeles, THE CITY of ANGELS! It's not soley because I'm living out my DREAMS in CINEMA; but, Los Angeles is a mecca for anything the mind can conjure up! If you've seen my movies, my mind has been busy "Conjuring!" heehee... Seriously, if I'm in the mood for date with the clouds , the mountains and canyons are literally six minutes away! If I'm in the mood for the sand between my toes as the breeze of the Paciific breathes on my face, I'm half an hour away form Malibu! Theatre, Art, Missions, Cultural diversity, City Skylines, are just a few examples of what Los Angeles has to offer and why I LOVE L.A.!" love, jd
p.s. I'm still in Pre-production on my next film THE TEACHER'S LOUNGE, and also I'm proceeding into Principal Photography for the Internet commercial, THEIR/MUSIC.com, I was hired to Write and Direct! In terms of music, I'm playing Mondays at Universal Bar and Grill in Universal City, Tuesdays at Monty's Steak House in Woodland Hills, and Ernies Restaurant in North Hollywood on Saturday and Sunday's.

Obtaining, "COMMERCIAL SUCCESS!"

Currently, I'm hard at work in trying to solidify the script for the internet commercial I was recently hired to do. The original script was four pages long. "Hello," four minutes for a commercial, way too long!! I've got to break it down to ONE page which is equivalent to one minute! BACK to work..love, jd

I am the GODFATHER!

Hola CyberFriends,
This past weekend and all this week, I will be House and DOG sitting! These dogs are the two Greyhounds in my short film DOG DAY AFTERNOON which is posted below. I consider these dogs my Godchildren as I've been taking care of them, when their owner's go out of town, for about three years now. Whenever I bring BILLY, one of the Greyhound's, with me to the coffee shop, he gets so much attention, and the chicks LOVE him! It never fails as they will tell me, "Your dog is SOOOO CUTE!" What am I suppose to say, "Sorry babe, he's not my dog!" That's not coolio; so, I came up with, "He's not my dog, I'm the Godfather!" The Chicks LOVE it!! heehee... The other greyhound is Vivian! She's a total PRINCESS and doesn't like coffee shops much and would rather stay home and be beautiful. If you look at the video, you will see what I'm talking about. In terms of the commercial I got hired to shoot, I'm currently "tweaking" the script, casting, developing a shot list, and will shoot next weekend! COMMERCIALS and the CORAL! How's that 4 alliteration!

Fugue Filmmakers are always grateful to get a paying Gig! Yours truly just got booked to Write, and Direct a commercial for the internet. YAY! The company is this amazing, innovative new website for unsigned musicians and for the producers and record companies to find the "Diamonds in the rough!" I will post the URL below. It's not operating yet, but check it out! It truly is amazing, and my job will be to, in two minutes or less, introduce it to the world via the web in the most clever and creative way possible! I've made FIVE FUGUE FEATURE FILMS and all that filmmaking experience will be thrust into this project!!! In terms of the Coral restaurant in Burbank Ca., last night I hung out with my GENIUS pal STEVE WORTH and friends! I mention this event because it turned into a "JOKE FEST" till 3:00 a.m., and I realized that moments like this are PRICELESS! STEVE WORTH has the most impeccable "Delivery" as well as MICHAEL FONTINELLI! These guys are huge in the world of Voice Over and Animation, and it shows simply by their abaility to recall jokes and deliver them with the "Timing" equal or better than any comedian I've ever heard! My Timing "Sucks!" However, against these guys, who doesn't suck! I will relish more moments like this!!! Love, jd
