EMO boy at 42....OxyMoron :0)

I'm 42 years old and I wear "EMO" hair. What is "EMO" hair? Well, if you look at the photo, you'll see It's basically uncut/unkept hair and a direct result of not having a REAL job! Musicians, filmmakers, and slackers are famous for sporting the EMO hair. L.A. is a full of them. Those bastards have essentially taken over the town. Did I happen to mention EMO's are highly creative and intelligent and are lovely dogwalkers! Occcasionally, their computers freeze up, though; but, as ACTORS and DIRECTORS and EDITORS they are quite good. EMOS tend to write incoherently, but they are great conversationalists, nationalist, evangelist, philanthropist, and every other IST! But most of all EMO's, well this EMO is a guy trying to get a Post on his blog. I love my life!!! ...jd

FREEZE FRAME in the Summer!

My laptop is only giving me five minutes before it"FREEEZES!" This will be brief as I'm saving to buy a new laptop, or I'm still trying to get this one fixed! In any event, such is "life," as I'm still rockin' as I'm playing a wedding this afternoon and Ernies tonight! Still in pre-production on my FILM! I love my life!!!! love, jd

Oop's..another 7 days w/ out a blog:(

In the last seven days my laptop FROZE, I WIPED OUT running and scraped my knees, the ignition to my truck broke down, the weights at the gym TWEAKED my neck...etc! But, I'm healthy! Wow, that's really, "Corny!" It's true, though. I've never been happier, as I'm playing a lot of gigs, and I'm starting pruduction on my new film! I'll keep you posted as this post was a bit weak! ..oh well, I love my life...love , jd

Seven days w/out a Post.... UNACCEPTABLE!

Okay, "Filmmaker/Music boy, what's up with not blogging for a week? I'm glad you asked! Well, for your information, "PAL," there is absolutely and unequivocally NO excuse! ;( I just haven't; and, it's not like I've been living this uneventful life in the City of Angels! As a matter of fact, last Friday night, I played at The Oyster House in Studio City, Saturday evening a wedding in Glendale, Sunday, Ernies Taco House then last night, I performed at Universal Bar and Grill! Tonight, it's Monty's Steak House in Woodland Hills! So there, "PAL!" How dare you suggest that "Mata-Boy," has been living this non-existent life;furthermore, he is now officialy in Pre-Production on his NEW feature film THE TEACHER'S LOUNGE! See what you made me do! The "Cat's" out of the bag. Sound the trumpets, I am officialy announcing the start of my next flick! Yay!!.. I'll keep you posted. Don't hold your breathe!! haha..i love my life...jd

FLY on the WALL in Absentia.....

It was a concert for three, SARA, DREW, and KELLY ANN at the UNIVERSAL BAR & GRILL last night. The tunes ranged from Elliott Smith's, BETWEEN THE BARS, the BEATLES, to a song I just composed, STORY EYED! I SANG they drank, conversed, and clapped! I was grateful, but I was also sad. The FLY on the WALL from last week was absent. I wondered as I sang the Beatle's YESTERDAY where my little winged friend was this night. Was my "flying wonder" at another bar supporting another lonely solitary piano player. I couldn't help but feel a bit jealous at that thought. However, I knew how warm I felt last week as I gave my finest performance ever, even if it was just to fly on the wall, my flying phenom friend. That's when it hit me, as I sang "Why she had to go," it was no longer my turn, and that my little big eyed angel was winking at another soul in need of kindness and support. For this week, I actually had an audience, and thanks to the fly on the wall from last week, I had re-discoverd my VOICE! I love my life..........love, jd

Be-lated Birthday gift....thank you, VIVI!

L.A. age 32....Real age 42, ouch! ...I celebrated a quiet birthday last Thursday, May 31. I am so grateful for the phone calls and e-mails that family and friends made and who always offer me unconditional support . I'm in an insane, "ENTERTAINMENT," business, and I was reminded that there is the tendency to take oneself and the "Biz" way to serious. I have devoted my life to filmmaking and music, and I have to remind myself that success is in the LAUGHTER and not the ACCOLADES! This morning I walked my two "God-dogs," Vivian and Billy. I have been "dog-sitting/walking" these Greyhounds for a couple of years now as Billy is a total "Dude," and Vivi is a "Princess!" Well, Billy took his normal "poop" on the grass like any normal "Dude" dog, but Miss Vivi proceeded to dispose of her waste on patch of Daisies!! Too bad I didn't have camera to capture this beautiful patch of lovely flowers that now had a GIFT! I laughed so hard! And that, my lovlies, was my "Crapiest/Best" be-lated GIFT, ever! Thank you, Vivi! ...."Laughter is the noise a FOOL makes, when he LOOKS in the mirror!" I love my life! ....love, jd
